Pronounced /VELL-ah/, her name literally means ‘sail’ as well as being an astrological reference to the sails of the Argo Navis constellation.  Vela is an authentic three-masted tall ship with soul, grace, and stories in every line of her rigging. She has just completed her farewell season in the Caribbean. She’ll be back, but her extensive refit will take some time.

This Island Girl has been catching eyes and skipping hearts on the Caribbean horizon with IWJ since 2015. From her graceful rig and sweeping decks to the gentle roll of the open sea, Vela evokes the golden age of sail, but with none of the fuss.
